Hi… Nice to Meet You

Leslie Duff, MSW, LCSW

I’m a therapist working, living and raising a family in Glen Ellyn.

I’m as human as they come. Doing my best to practice what I “preach” everyday (with plenty of room for growth). I am honest with myself and try to live as intentionally as possible.

I have an abundant life…. I collect pets…Make weird art… Read devastating books for pleasure… Camp as much as I can…. Drink tea all day… Despise grocery shopping… And I love my job.

Who I am & Who I Support

I am a cis gender, white, heteroromantic woman. I am able bodied and neurotypical. While I am working on acknowledging the abundant privilege of my identifiers, I am also working to recognize how this impacts my role in society as well as in a therapeutic relationship.

While I have inherent limitations to my understanding of oppressed experiences, my intention is to be actively listening and learning. I am aware it is my responsibility to take a role in making the world a place where people of all identities feel safe and are able to flourish. One small way I hope to do so is to welcome different identities into a shared space to be heard, respected and supported best I can.

Why Blue Bird?

Dear Reader,

This beautiful little guy was the inspiration for my business name. Not only do I love birds, but this particular one came to me at a very important time in my life.

The Blue Bird represents the ideas of Hope, Love & Renewal. Three principles that create a pretty amazing foundation for a therapy practice, if you ask me.

The Blue Bird found me at a time when I needed him most. I’m hoping to do the same for you.

With Love,

Leslie
